Job summary

Gregorys Coffee in New York City is seeking an Assistant Store Leader to act as a brand ambassador and lead a warm, inclusive environment for both the team and customers. You will partner with your District Leader to manage coffee and food programs, maintain brand standards, and support daily operations.

You will train and develop the team, uphold health and safety standards, and help grow sales by building strong in-store traffic through outstanding service and thoughtful action plans.

• Experience leading and developing teams in a retail or cafe environment.
• Ensure coffee, food and customer service standards are consistently upheld.
• Adhere to local labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Oversee coffee & beverage program quality checks and staff training.
• Oversee food program quality checks and staff training.
• Model outstanding customer service and uphold brand standards.
• Manage inventory, labor scheduling, and store action planning.
• Submit regular deposits and handle cash policies.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Store Leader, you will be a brand ambassador and beacon of culture for both your team and your customers. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the below key areas.

People Development

• Create a warm and inclusive environment for your team and your customers
• Work alongside your team to prepare specialty coffee and espresso beverages, including latte art (we’ll teachyou!)
• Train new team members while validating their ability to confidently uphold brand standards
• Provide ongoing education and development for all team members, to ensure excellent standards for coffee, food,and customer service are consistently upheld
• Adhere to local and state labor laws

Operations Standards

• Oversee the store’s coffee & beverage program by conducting quality checks and providing continuous team education to ensure brand standards are consistently executed
• Oversee the store’s food program–including fresh baked pastries, hot sandwiches, and grab & go–by conductingquality checks and providing continuous team education to ensure brand standards are consistently executed
• Oversee the store’s food safety and cleanliness protocols, ensuring compliance with the Department of Health
• Oversee all cash handling policies, including making deposits
• Role model excellent customer service to build a community of Gregulars within your store

With support from your District Leader, you will:

• Learn to manage inventory metrics (COGS) (weekly basis)
• Learn to manage labor metrics and to write strategic schedules
• Make regular bank deposits according to company policy
• Learn to manage turnover metrics by creating a positive employee experience
• Learn to grow the business by creating store action plans to build sales and customer foot traffic
• Learn to create and execute store action plans to continuously improve while solving problems
