Assistant Store Leader (Finance)


Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
  • Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval

Desired qualifications:

  • Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations
  • Staff supervisory experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist store manager & associates in providing excellent customer service and developing interest in customer relations
  • Lead teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives
  • Develop action plans and communicate results to staff
  • Identify store opportunities and develop solutions
  • Manage total store operations in store manager’s absence
  • Achieve sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrink targets
  • Drive sales and profits through collaboration with department managers
  • Participate in financial performance discussions and budget development
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and promote inclusive leadership
  • Build relationships with community organizations and union representatives
  • Communicate effectively with staff and serve as a liaison on operational plans
  • Assist in staffing, reducing turnover, and increasing retention
  • Provide performance feedback and manage labor and supply costs
  • Ensure compliance with laws and policies
  • Supervise and coach staff, completing performance reviews
