We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Store Director to join Meijer at our Fraser, MI Store Location. As an Assistant Store Director, you will provide leadership related to store operations, processes, and conditions. You will plan, direct, and supervise the team in daily store operations, including staff selection, training, development, and performance management. Your role involves developing strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and increase profitability, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently. You will also oversee product merchandising to maximize sales and profitability, forecast staffing needs, and develop recruiting strategies. Purpose:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing operations across food and general merchandise areas.
  • Managing planograms, seasonal resets, and endcaps.
  • Engaging team members and leadership to provide excellent shopping experiences.
  • Creating a culture of positive team member engagement to retain and recruit talent.
  • Identifying, selecting, and developing talent.
  • Upholding cultural standards and values through effective communication.
  • Assessing financial results and implementing strategies to improve store profitability.
  • Developing strategies to enhance customer service, sales, and profitability.
  • Ensuring product merchandising maximizes sales and profitability.
  • Building community relationships to support the Meijer brand.

What You'll be Doing:

Assist the Store Director in running store operations as needed. Lead performance management activities, attract and retain talent supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Communicate daily with the team, lead huddles, and ensure adherence to food safety standards. Manage store operations in the Store Director's absence. Drive key performance metrics, stay informed on market trends, and implement initiatives to keep Meijer competitive. Oversee daily store functions, merchandising, and customer service standards.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of retail, grocery, operations management, or customer service experience.
