Albertsons Companies in Williston, ND seeks a strong Grocery Department Manager to lead daily operations across Frozen, Dairy and Liquor/Beer sections. You will drive merchandising, inventory, pricing, and customer service while coaching a team to deliver exceptional results.

The role requires high school education with retail leadership experience; strong communication, problem solving, and adaptability are essential to succeed in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department (Frozen, Dairy, Liquor/Beer) with merchandising, inventory, and service standards.
• Promote a customer-first culture and support store customer service initiatives.
• Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, pricing, rotation, and shrink control.
• Coach and develop department staff; schedule and supervise employees.
• Monitor sales, labor, and financial performance to inform decisions.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and policy compliance throughout the department.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department, including Frozen, Dairy, and Liquor/Beer areas, ensuring efficient execution of merchandising, inventory, and customer service standards.
• Champion and promote a customer-first culture by delivering exceptional service and supporting company customer service initiatives across the store.
• Oversee inventory management, product ordering, stock replenishment, pricing compliance, product rotation, and shrink control to maximize sales and profitability.
• Supervise, coach, train, schedule, and develop department employees while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Monitor departmental sales, labor performance, and financial results, using profit and loss information to support business decisions and promotional planning.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, security, operational, and company policy standards throughout the department and store.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, and vendors while resolving concerns and supporting business objectives.
• Serve as the store leader in the absence of the Store Director, directing overall store operations and supporting department managers to achieve sales and operational goals

• Educational requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education in business, retail management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant retail leadership experience will be considered.
• Other requirements:
  • Extensive retail experience with prior management responsibility in a retail environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee, sales, and company information.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to refrigerated, freezer, heated, and outdoor conditions.
