Job summary

SpartanNash, a leading food solutions company, is seeking a Store Leader to support the Store Director and learn management of all store areas. You will ensure departments are staffed, trained, and operating efficiently, while maintaining profitability and the store’s appearance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and 3+ years in retail grocery with supervisory experience; strong Excel and financial acumen are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• One year of experience in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficient Computer (email, spreadsheets, etc).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Accounting/Bookkeeping skills.
• Interpret/Analyze Financials.
• Develop/Manage Budgets.
• Delegate/Direct/Implement.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.
• Review reports, take action and communicate information as needed.
• Engage in financial planning including budgeting, staffing/payroll, facility maintenance and upgrading.
• Communicate and work with SpartanNash personnel.
• Train others to perform all department activities and functions.
• Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
• Have familiarity with all products carried in the department; know differences in price, taste, preparation, use etc.

COMPENSATION: Salary range $50,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.

Position Summary

This role is responsible to provide support to the Store Director while learning and becoming skilled in management of all areas of the store.

• ensure all departments are fully staffed, trained, and operating efficiently.
• maintain store profitability by monitoring all financial aspects of purchasing, stocking, selling, payroll and other general expenses and income.
• maintains physical location properly including equipment, sanitization, safety, and general appearance.
• communicating and executing the corporate plans.

Complete all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.
