Job summary

SpartanNash, Marine City, MI, seeks an Assistant/Store Director to support the Store Director in managing all store areas, ensuring staffing, training, and profitability. You will supervise, train, and coordinate departments while upholding company plans and guest satisfaction.

The role requires budget awareness, staff scheduling, and strong product knowledge, with emphasis on operational efficiency and customer service in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• One year of experience in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficient computer use (email, spreadsheets, etc).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Accounting/Bookkeeping skills.
• Interpret/Analyze Financials.
• Develop/Manage Budgets.
• Delegate/Direct/Implement.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.
• Review reports, take action and communicate information as needed.
• Engage in financial planning including budgeting, staffing/payroll, facility maintenance and upgrading.
• Communicate and work with SpartanNash personnel.
• Train others to perform all department activities and functions.
• Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others.
• Greet all customers and provide prompt and courteous service or assistance.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
• Have familiarity with all products carried in the department; know differences in price, taste, preparation, use etc.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
