Job summary

SpartanNash in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a Store Supervisor to support the Store Director and learn all aspects of store management. The role focuses on staffing, budgeting, training, and maintaining profitability while ensuring safety and cleanliness.

You will interact with customers and lead department teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (preferred), 3+ years in retail grocery leadership, and strong accounting/financial skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• One year of supervisory or lead experience, preferably in retail.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections of all areas and provide feedback to department managers.
• Review reports, take action and communicate information as needed.
• Engage in financial planning including budgeting, staffing/payroll, facility maintenance and upgrading.
• Communicate and work with SpartanNash personnel.
• Train others to perform department activities and functions.
• Manage selection, scheduling and supervision of others.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and customer-friendly department.
• Familiarity with all products in the department; know price, taste, prep, use.

Under direction of the Store Director: ensure all departments are fully staffed, trained, and operating efficiently; maintain store profitability by monitoring all financial aspects of purchasing, stocking, selling, payroll and other general expenses and income; maintains physical location properly including equipment, sanitization, safety, and general appearance; communicating and executing the corporate plans.
