Job summary

Main Responsibilities
Position Purpose

The Store Director is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the store. This position drives sales growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, associate engagement, and profitability while ensuring compliance with all company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The Store Director leads all store departments and develops high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results and an outstanding customer experience.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all store operations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop department managers and store associates.
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and customer service excellence.
  • Conduct performance discussions and develop succession plans for future leaders.
  • Lead by example through visible, hands-on leadership throughout the store.
Customer Service & Community Engagement
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve escalated issues promptly and professionally.
  • Foster positive relationships within the local community.
  • Promote company initiatives that enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a welcoming, clean, and customer-focused shopping environment.
Financial Performance
  • Achieve sales, labor, shrink, expense, and profit objectives.
  • Analyze financial reports and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop action plans to improve sales performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Control operating expenses while maintaining excellent service standards.
  • Drive execution of promotional programs and merchandising initiatives.
Store Operations
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising, pricing, inventory, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support effective replenishment practices.
  • Maintain store readiness, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure proper execution of company programs, policies, and procedures.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment for associates and customers.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, employment practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor loss prevention efforts and ensure adherence to security procedures.
  • Lead emergency response efforts and incident management when necessary.
Talent Management
  • Create and maintain staffing plans that support business needs.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources to attract and retain top talent.
  • Develop associates through coaching, mentoring, and career development opportunities.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and training programs are in place for all new hires.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
Merchandising & Sales Execution
  • Ensure effective merchandising and promotional execution throughout the store.
  • Lead seasonal and special sales initiatives.
  • Monitor in-stock conditions and product availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer shopping experience and department conditions.
  • Support innovation and best practices to maximize sales and profitability.
