Position description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Davis seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Specialist positions. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Environmental or Agricultural Science, with experience in modeling and agricultural systems in North America and the tropics.

The role involves providing specialized expertise in life cycle assessment, geospatial analysis, and model development for agricultural and food systems. Responsibilities include data collection, model parametrization, analysis, reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
  1. Research in specialized areas (85%): Data collection, model development, analysis, and reporting.
  2. Professional competence and activity (10%): Presentations, lab upkeep, collaboration.
  3. University and public service (5%): Liaison with external agencies, committee participation.
Qualifications

Minimum: Master's in Environmental or Agricultural Science with experience in modeling and agricultural systems.

Preferred: Experience with public datasets, modeling tools (DNDC, USEtox), soil sampling, and international agricultural systems.
