Assistant Sous Chef (Lead Line Cook) Full Time - Walt Disney World

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef with overall culinary direction and team development, promoting collaboration and a lively work environment.
  • Supervise daily operations and execution of all menu categories and recipes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Grow your culinary career by working in various kitchens and locations within the company.
  • Create dishes from around the world using a wide range of ingredients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of recent line cook experience, including grill and sauté, or a culinary certificate with 2 years of experience.
  • Proven experience across all kitchen stations and multiple cooking skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, tools, culinary techniques, and ingredients.
  • Understanding of HACCP, food safety, and proper food handling.
  • Passion for culinary arts, continuous learning, and guest service.
  • Ability to follow recipes, adapt recipes, and manage food allergies.
  • Knowledge of kitchen terminology and etiquette, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Willingness to work on-stage and at the chef's table if needed.
  • Knowledge of modern and classical cooking, knife skills, and butchering techniques.
  • Additional PPE may be required; handling cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • Serve Safe certification.
  • Prior experience as a lead line cook.
  • Experience in fine dining or catering/events kitchens.

Additional Information:

Schedule Availability: Operations run 24/7; shifts may start as early as 5:00 am or end as late as 5:00 am. Scheduling is based on seniority.
