Great opportunity to bring your culinary skills to one of North America's fastest-growing hospitality companies – Concord Hospitality Enterprises. This Assistant Sous Chef position involves tempting guests' palettes with attention to presentation, quality, and safe serving temperatures.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of quick, authoritative problem-solving and delegation to foster team growth. They should leverage their extensive experience to coach and mentor the culinary team effectively. Striving for perfection while understanding its impossibility, the candidate will find growth opportunities in an environment that values communication and organization for kitchen success.

Depending on the hotel brand, we offer various food services, from simple buffet breakfasts to plated dinners and banquets. Our Sous Chefs are team players working with operations to deliver professional, competent, and prompt service to guests and clients. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Training associates in job duties, including plate presentation and display work.
  2. Scheduling, evaluating, and directing personnel.
  3. Maintaining open communication between management and staff.
  4. Handling disciplinary actions when necessary.
  5. Providing tools and equipment needed for job performance.
  6. Addressing kitchen problems immediately.
  7. Participating in department, staff, and kitchen meetings, inventory, and MOD program.
  8. Ensuring high-quality, properly prepared food is efficiently served.
  9. Establishing goals, standards, and objectives to enhance reputation and profitability.
  10. Supervising kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef and overseeing utility and sanitation staff.
  11. Maintaining records, recipe cards, and presentation standards.
  12. Ensuring payroll hours are submitted timely.

Qualifications
