Job summary

Dallas College is seeking a Staff athletics assistant coach to support the Head Coach with scouting, recruiting, player development, workouts, practices, and games. The role includes data collection, reports, and compliance with college policies.

On-site positions may become hybrid after six months depending on job duties and policy; academic positions require on-campus presence. Background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher with two years of coaching/teaching experience, or high school diploma with four years of directly related experience in teaching, tutoring, or training environment.
• Knowledge of sports equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of non-athletic aid program.
• Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
• Oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with individuals and varying levels of Dallas College staff.
• Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

• Represents the college with external individuals and organizations within the college service area to advance the athletics program and community recreational offerings.

• Completes required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range N03-Hourly Hourly Rate $23.78 Hourly FLSA United States of America (Non-Exempt)

Work Location All positions are considered on-site roles. After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible to apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy. Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.

Position Summary Assists the Head Coach, of the particular athletic program assigned, with coaching duties which will include scouting, recruiting, player development, workouts, practices, games, study hall, and off-season program(s).

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Work may involve moving and lifting of light to moderately heavy materials or equipment requiring physical strength and agility.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

Associate’s degree or higher and two years of experience teaching/coaching environment or high school graduate and four years of directly related experience in teaching, tutoring, or training environment. An understanding of NJCAA policies and philosophy. Official transcripts will be required. Bilingual preferred.
