Job summary

GardenCore is seeking an Assistant Site Manager in Waterloo, IN to lead people toward a common goal in a fast-paced lawn & garden products facility. You will oversee material intake, processing, packaging and production flow, with accountability for bottom-line results.

You will manage safety programs, drive process improvements, and negotiate raw material costs, while monitoring inventory and labor costs to support efficient production.

Qualifications

• 2+ years manufacturing management experience.
• 2 or 4 year degree or equivalent combination of education or training.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to staff and direct operational activities to ensure safety, product quality and consistency.
• Ensure workplace safety and enforce company standards and safety programs.
• Implement process improvements to sustain non-stop production safely and profitably.
• Negotiate raw material costs and schedule deliveries to meet build schedules.
• Maintain accountability for inventory, labor and cost controls.

Description

GardenCore is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead people toward a common goal with an entrepreneurial spirit to oversee all aspects of a fast paced lawn & garden products manufacturing facility. This facility is comprised of taking in raw materials, processing and packaging the materials for mulch and soils. Daily duties include monitoring key metrics, safety, production flow and material costs. In this role, the Assistant Plant Manager will have accountability for bottom line results.

The Assistant Site Manager will work in Waterloo, IN.

Job Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional leadership to staff, assessing performance, and directing all operational activities to ensure safety, product quality and consistency
• Ensuring workplace safety through implementation, adherence and enforcement of company business standards, as well as safety and development programs
• Implementing process improvement methods and ensuring non-stop production in an effective, safe and profitable manner
• Negotiating cost with raw material suppliers and scheduling raw material delivery to meet business and production build schedules
• Accountability for inventory management, labor and cost controls

Requirements

• 2 or 4 year degree, and/or equivalent combination(s) of education, industry experience and training
• 2+ years manufacturing management experience
• Must have excellent analytical and communication skills
• Must have intermediate MS Office skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience in wood/pulp/mulch manufacturing preferred
• Experience with heavy equipment

Compensation

• Base salary of $75,000 - $80,000 per year
