Salary$29-$32 per hour, plus excellent benefits

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Assistant Site Coordinator will work closely with the Site Coordinator to help create and maintain a positive and supportive environment for elementary school-aged children and staff. The Assistant Site Coordinator will play a key role in the After School Program/Summer Program, providing essential support in program implementation, staff supervision, and student engagement. They will also serve as a critical resource for both the Site Coordinator and program leaders, acting as a floater to ensure smooth program operations. The primary focus of this role is to support the academic, social, and emotional development of youth, while also guiding them in literacy, recreational, and enrichment activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Site Coordinator in the daily operations of the program to ensure compliance with program standards and goals.
  • Lead and organize after school events and activities for students and their families.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and support to Program Leaders, interns, and volunteers, ensuring they deliver high-quality academic and enrichment activities.
  • Support with student recruitment, enrollment scheduling and registration procedures to meet program attendance goals.
  • Work closely with the Site Coordinator to create curriculum activities for interns and volunteers.
  • Support the Site Coordinator in overseeing safety protocols, space organization, and cleanliness policies, ensuring a secure environment for all participants.
  • Provide supervision during indoor and outdoor activities to maintain a safe and structured environment.
  • Participate in school administrative meetings and agency-wide meetings to stay informed and contribute to program alignment with broader objectives.
  • Maintain high levels of communication with all stakeholders, including youth, parents, school staff, and contractors.
  • Assist the Site Coordinator with administrative duties such as EMS and CMS reporting, paperwork documentation, timesheets, and other required documentation.
  • Support data collection, conduct observations, and use assessments and feedback for ongoing program improvement.
  • Ensure all participant records are complete, organized, and on file to meet funder compliance.
  • Lead and assist staff with conflict mediation, using restorative practices for classroom management
  • Communicate with school staff and parents regarding student behaviours and any necessary interventions.
  • Make purchases and manage necessary supplies and materials for program activities.
  • Support organization events and other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator or management
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields preferred, plus 2 years of relevant work experience, or associate degree with 2 years of proven experience in youth development/after-school programming.
  • One year of staff supervision experience is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups of constituents.
  • Good organizational skills such as: record-keeping, event planning, space scheduling and coordination, computer/internet use, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and do data analysis.
  • Capacity to multitask, work independently, and meet strict programmatic deadlines.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift or move at least 25 lbs.
