Think Together in Los Angeles is hiring an Assistant Site Coordinator to support the Site Coordinator in running the Expanded Learning program. You will back up daily operations, supervise staff, and help ensure grant compliance and safety.

You will serve as a main contact for students, parents, staff and school personnel, while helping to recruit participants and organize schedules and events. This role emphasizes professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Six months experience working with youth in a classroom or afterschool setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience in an afterschool or school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or assist in managing day-to-day operations of the expanded learning program.
  • Supervise program staff such as Afterschool Youth Leaders and Instructors.
  • Assist with hiring processes, interviews and staffing recommendations.
  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to program staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Think Together policies and grant requirements.
  • Create and organize program schedules, events, and field trips.
  • Maintain positive relationships with school staff and stakeholders.
  • Help recruit students to meet attendance targets per grant.

Assistant Site Coordinator

Status: Full-Time | Pay Rate $22.00/hour

The Assistant Site Coordinator is a site leader working closely with the Site Coordinator to provide high quality programming for the site’s Expanded Learning program. The Assistant Site Coordinator assists and backs-up the Site Coordinator in several diverse areas in an Expanded Learning program environment, and is a main point of contact for all stakeholders - students and parents, staff, school personnel, and others - at the site level. The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Program meets Think Together’s compliance and grant-related requirements. Interactions and actions must be conducted in accordance with the Expanded Learning program’spurposeandoutcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or assist in managing day-to-day operations of the expanded learning program.
  • Support with the supervision of program staff (Afterschool Youth Leaders, Athletic and/orEnrichment Instructors).
  • Lead and/or assist with conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, taking
  • Assist with providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to all program staff.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism.
  • Lead and/or assist in creating and organizing program schedule to include academic, recreation,
  • Plan, organize and participate in expanded learning program events and field trips.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships, and communication with school personnel, Think
  • Recruit students to ensure attendance outcomes are met on an annual basis per grant
  • Assist with student to staff ratio when necessary, facilitate classes and clubs as needed in
  • Monitor and enforce school and Think Together policies and procedures to provide a safe,
  • Invest in staff professional development by assisting the Site Coordinator in conducting
  • Assist in conducting surveys for periodic program evaluations, including surveys of students,
  • Collect, review, approve and submit timesheets (as needed and/or assigned) by the specified
  • Submit all required documentation on a timely basis, including attendance reports, snack
  • Represent the mission of Think Together and uphold all policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in agency and department required trainings.
  • Travel to off-site meetings and trainings.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records (i.e., attendance, student enrollment & consent forms,
  • Assist in maintaining documentation relating to staff performance issues; provide guidance and
  • Disseminate agency and department level information to staff in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to workplace safety guidelines.
  • Assist with evaluating work site for safety concerns to minimize workplace injuries.
  • Make recommendations for workplace safety.
  • Must wear Think Together uniform while on duty.
  • Report workplace injuries via appropriate forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree
  • Six months experience working with youth in a classroom or afterschool setting required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience in a supervisory role required, preferably in an afterschool program or school

preferred. Copy of diploma and/or degree will be requested, if hired.

Background Checks/Testing
  • Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
  • Provide a clear TB test
