The Assistant Shop Managers are responsible for supervising a team of technicians in general service and auto repair; they supervise performance and arrange proper training to ensure the team is operating with the company's standard procedures and operations. Assistant Shop Managers also play an important role in maximizing revenue and customer loyalty by ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction so that vehicle owners continue to return to us for future service or repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee the daily operations of the service and repair department, ensuring all company policies and procedures are being followed.
Delegate work/assigned duties to technicians and G.S. technicians; oversee work to completion.
Ensure all OSHA and company safety standards are adhered to and the shop is run in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with the company policies, procedures and "Quality Standards".
Test drive vehicles upon vehicle arrival, verifying customer complaint; test drive vehicles upon completion of work to ensure proper repairs are complete.
Communication is key with sales, parts, technicians and inspectors to determine if additional work or parts are needed.
Perform vehicle inspections as needed; verify the technicians' diagnosis and inspectors' preventative maintenance inspections are accurate and complete.
Ensure all customer vehicles are kept clean and tidy. Must notify Store Manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Must efficiently perform tire/wheel installation, balancing, rotation and repairs in compliance with company policies, procedures and "Quality Standards".
Ensure shop and parking lot areas are clean and tidy at all times, which may include sweeping/mopping, picking up trash, wiping down various surfaces, painting, etc.
Must attend all driver, safety and staff meetings as arranged by management.
Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Must have high level of motivation and customer-focused attitude. Ability to work well in a team environment is a must.
Must have strong knowledge in automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and basic repair of vehicles.
Must have strong computer and phone skills.
Must possess personal and professional integrity.
Must possess strong and positive leadership skills. Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and have ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Competitive pay based on experience. Driver's License Required.
