GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Assistant Services Manager (ASM) leads through Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values to develop a high-performing team that drives sales in hair and skin services. Supporting the Experience Manager, the ASM manages all aspects of the services business, including sales, events, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence, while also providing guest services directly in the salon. The role emphasizes performance, people, and process management, requiring a results-driven approach, industry passion, exceptional guest service, leadership, and technical aptitude.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
- Perform salon hair, makeup, skincare services, and product demos for guests.
- Achieve weekly individual productivity goals.
- Promote accountability to meet sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink goals.
- Drive profitability through operational excellence and sales growth.
- Support service events to enhance guest experience and meet sales and payroll targets.
- Analyze financial and operational reports regularly and respond promptly.
- Address underperformance in service sales with strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance and enforce the attendance policy.
People
- Assist in attracting, hiring, and retaining diverse top talent using various methods.

- Assist in staffing schedules to optimize traffic and productivity.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Cosmetology school graduate
- Cosmetology license and/or management license as required by law
Experience
- 2-3+ years relevant salon management or related experience
- Knowledge of state cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements
- Experience with financial management, sales, and reporting
- Leadership skills in talent development and change management
Skills
- Proficiency in salon techniques and product knowledge
- Technological proficiency (POS, MS Office, Apple devices)
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible full-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
