Job description

Parsons Roofing, a leading roofing company specializing in commercial roofing solutions, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Service Technician to join our dedicated team. This position does not require prior roofing experience, but it is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to begin a career with growth opportunities with little to no experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of commercial roofing systems, including flat roofs, metal roofs, and single-ply membranes, under the guidance of the lead technician.
2. Conduct inspections to assess roofing conditions, identify issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
3. Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to detect leaks, cracks, and other roofing problems.
4. Collaborate with the project team to develop roofing plans, coordinate materials and equipment, and ensure project timelines are met.
5. Safely operate and maintain roofing tools, equipment, and machinery.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
8. Document work performed, including materials used, repairs made, and hours worked.

Requirements:

1. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
2. Previous experience in commercial roofing installation and repair is preferred but not required. Ability to use roofing tools, equipment, and machinery.
3. Strong understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow safety guidelines.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certification or training in commercial roofing systems.
2. Experience with different types of roofing membranes and coatings.
3. Knowledge of modified bitumen roofing systems and ability to use roofing torch.
