Role Summary
The Assistant Service Operations Manager is an experienced professional with high energy, initiative, and a working knowledge of service processes. The role requires a customer-first approach, adaptability, creativity, and servant leadership. Reports to the Service Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Service Operations Manager to meet or exceed performance standards for operations and customer service.
  • Manage budget expectations and oversee cost centers such as working hours, inventory, and accounts receivable.
  • Lead local operations with a hands-on and servant leadership approach.
  • Manage high-value inventory reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with Service, Sales, Retail, and Delivery & Field Operations teams.
  • Implement and improve field service operations in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate logistics and meetings internally and externally.
  • Lead a customer-centric team of Mobile/Service Technicians, Service Advisors, and Parts Advisors.
  • Cover for the Service Operations Manager when needed.
  • Foster an inclusive Rivian culture with high team morale.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in automotive, OEM, Tier 1 or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to influence scalability in a complex organization.
  • Effective management of onsite and remote service teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills focused on operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Professionalism, discretion, judgment, and tact.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of automotive equipment and servicing methods; technical knowledge preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Experience in start-up environments is a plus.
  • Understanding of problem-solving methodologies like SWOT, Lean, Six Sigma.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the past 3-5 years.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Physical ability to perform occupational tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
