Job description

Our Assistant Service Managers are an integral part of keeping our residents satisfied and are responsible for day-to-day maintenance operations and the general upkeep of the community. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our team at a large property in Tempe, AZ.

Administrative/Office
  • Meet daily with the Service Manager to communicate and manage the workflow of all make-readies, service repairs, and special projects.
  • Organize and file reports and paperwork daily.
  • Manage and complete make-ready checklists and all required maintenance documentation promptly as directed by the Service Manager or Community Manager.
Maintenance/Safety
  • Complete repairs and improvements to apartment homes prior to resident move-in, following the make-ready checklist, including window blinds, sheetrock repair, caulking and sealing all windows, sinks, toilets, and baths, touch-up painting, and lighting.
  • Inspect the property daily to ensure standards are met, making repairs as needed and reporting to the Lead Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Immediately notify the Community Manager of any illegal conduct by vendors, residents, or employees.
  • Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities.
  • Support cost-cutting and expense control by repairing rather than replacing parts when possible.
  • Change locks and ensure gates operate according to code and policy.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and special projects as needed.
  • Accept service requests from the work order log.
  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude at all times.
  • Perform additional duties and meet deadlines to exceed expectations.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of related experience and training.
  • HVAC Certification required.
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with OneSite/RealPage and ALN systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug test.
