Job summary

Hireology is seeking an Assistant Service Manager in Anchorage, Alaska to oversee shop workflow, assist technicians and customers, and promote safe work practices in a fast-paced environment.

The role supports technicians, coordinates jobs, and ensures high standards of service. A solid mechanical background and administrative experience are valued, with opportunities for growth in the Service department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ administrative experience.
• Strong mechanical background; 5–10 years as a heavy equipment mechanic or dealer preferred.
• Management training and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and clean working environment for technicians
• Provide training outline to trainer and service manager for techs
• Provide safety training to technicians
• Provide support to technicians in the field as needed
• Line out techs on jobs
• Coordinate jobs for technicians
• Provide technical assistance over the phone with customers
• Create parts requisitions for jobs
• Communicate with manufacturers on issues and technical support
• Travel as needed to other branches to assist
• Sign off on all work orders
• Update backlog and create quotes for customers and other branches
• Promote efficiency in the shop

Summary

Essential Functions

1. Provide safe and clean working environment for technicians
2. Provide training outline to trainer and service manager for techs
3. Provide safety training to technicians
4. Provide support to technicians in the field as needed

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed in an office environment. The employee will be required to stand, walk, bend and will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
