Our client is seeking an Assistant Scientist in Princeton, NJ.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist to join our team with the primary responsibility of developing mammalian cell lines and assessing new platforms to produce monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins or other recombinant proteins for clinical and commercial manufacturing. The selected candidate will be heavily involved in techniques such as flow cytometry and cell imaging and will collaborate with other departments, including molecular biology, upstream process development, and process development analytics. Additionally, scientists will participate in the assessment and integration of new technologies to enhance our platforms.


Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Required BS degree but MS is preferred in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related biologics fields with 0 - 4 years of experience is required.
  2. Experience with aseptic culture of mammalian cell lines is a must.
  3. Hands-on experience with flow cytometry and cell imaging techniques (fluorescent microscopy) is desirable.
  4. Automation experience is a plus.
  5. Basic understanding of daily lab functions, maintenance, safety, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  6. Consistent delivery of accurate and complete experimental records.
  7. Ability to perform scientific literature reviews.
  8. The candidate must be well-organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform cell staining, imaging and flow cytometry.
  2. Assist with ongoing business and innovation projects in the lab.
  3. Conduct limited data analysis and review.
  4. Carry out assigned laboratory work and other basic functional duties to support lab operations.
  5. Maintain a research lab notebook, recording information on activities.
  6. Comply with lab procedures, protocols, regulatory, and other requirements.
  7. Evaluate and introduce innovative technologies to improve the cell line development process and therapeutic protein production.
  8. Work closely with other functional teams, including Upstream Process Development, Downstream Purification, and Analytical Development, to support development activities.
  9. Create written technical reports and present data at internal forums.
  10. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Must Haves:
  1. Experience with aseptic culture of mammalian cell lines is a must.
  2. Hands-on experience with flow cytometry.
