Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is hiring an Assistant Scientist in Hercules, CA to support research and development under GLP guidelines. You will perform basic analytical work, assist in studies, and help ensure data quality across projects using techniques and instruments available in the lab.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field, with lab experience and strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity and/or experience in a laboratory setting.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience may substitute for the degree.

Job Description

Assistant Scientist responsibilities include the following

• Completes work for research and development under GLP guidelines for studies, documentation, etc.

• Provides basic analytical work on projects and studies using a range of analytical techniques and instruments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Preferred skills - HPLC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS

Basic Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.
• In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelor's degree.
• Familiarity and/or experience n a laboratory setting.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with overtime required as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Hercules, CA are encouraged to apply. Compensation: $23.50 per hour.
