Job summary

Chartwells K12 in Union, MO is hiring for full-time and part-time Helper Cook positions within the Union R-XI School District. Learn to assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items, adhering to production records and recipes. Hours are Monday through Friday with varying schedules.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read menu to estimate food requirements and procure items.
• Prepare and cook food per recipes and production records.
• Adjust oven and equipment temperatures according to guidelines.
• Measure and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils.
• Bake, roast, broil and steam meats and vegetables under supervision.
• Taste and test food for doneness.
• Carve, portion, and garnish to fill orders as directed.
• Wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in work area and equipment.
• Interact with customers and coworkers courteously and efficiently.
• Follow service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
