Job summary

Chaparral Company in Geismar, LA, seeks an experienced scaffolding professional to assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating erection, modification, and dismantling work. You will enforce OSHA standards and client site rules, coordinate daily plans with foremen and the Project Manager, and report progress and costs in a timely manner.

Ideal candidates hold 3+ years of industrial scaffolding experience, including 1 year as foreman, with knowledge of tube/clamp and system scaffolding.

• Knowledge of tube & clamp and system scaffolding; OSHA scaffold standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and scheduling scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling work.
• Follow and enforce CIS safety standards, OSHA requirements, and client site rules.
• Coordinate daily work plans, manpower needs, and crew assignments with foremen and the Project Manager.
• Track labor hours, materials, equipment, and job progress; report cost or schedule concerns.
• Communicate with client representatives about daily field activities and bring requests to the Project Manager.
• Help coordinate scaffold material orders, deliveries, returns, and yard inventory.
• Verify scaffold inspections, tagging, and records.
• Submit daily reports, timesheets, and job updates on time.
• Maintain job trackers and electronic project files (email, Excel, Word, company systems).
• Assist with change order documentation, billing support, and project closeout.
• Manage assigned activities when the Project Manager is unavailable, as directed by Operations Manager.
• Participate in training and coaching to develop project management skills.

• OSHA
• Valid TWIC card or the ability to obtain one.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Computer skills, including email, Microsoft Excel and Word, digital forms, timesheets, job trackers, and reports.
• Strong communication skills with crews, clients, and management.
