Scheduled Days and Hours

Driving Requirements

Applicants should have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised driving experience in passenger cars or larger vehicles in the U.S. or U.S. military installations worldwide. A personal vehicle suitable for use may be required.

Employment Conditions

Employment is conditional upon meeting medical, eligibility, and background check requirements. Offers are contingent upon these criteria.

Salary

$20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Functional Purpose

Deliver packages on Sundays and holidays, and possibly on Saturdays, using a prescribed rural route and vehicle. May also include casing, delivering, and collecting mail and packages, and providing customer service.

Key Duties

1. Load packages in delivery sequence.
2. Deliver packages to customers.
3. Sort mail for the route.
4. Handle accountable mail and receipts.
5. Load mail and packages into vehicle.
6. Collect monies and receipts for accountable mail, and pick up mail from roadside boxes.
7. Provide postal information to customers.
8. Return undeliverable mail and submit collections to the post office.
9. Prepare time records and ensure mail security.
10. May need to provide a personal vehicle if not supplied by the employer; ARCs are non-career employees providing delivery services along rural routes. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions, and may involve lifting items weighing up to 70 pounds.

    Additional Information

    Candidates should reside within easy commuting distance of the facility. If providing own vehicle, ARC employees will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
