Job summary

Kankakee High School seeks an Assistant Robotics Coach to lead and support the robotics team through the season, coordinate practices, and oversee outreach efforts. This role collaborates with the Athletic Director and Building Principal to promote STEM engagement.

The position involves recruiting, organizing practices, managing Google Classroom for the team, and preparing year-end reports and outreach displays for recruitment events.

Responsibilities

• Regular Season: September – March
• State Tournament: March–June
• Help with recruiting
• Hold 3 practices per week during CBEO period and after school practices
• Attend league events – South Suburban League
• Compete in league events and tournaments
• Participate in outreach events: Farmers Market, Library, Art Gallery STEM Day, Robotics Summer camp
• Lead one of the following as assigned by the head coach: Assistant Coach #1 - Engineering Notebook; Assistant Coach #2 - Outreach programs - Plan multiple outreach events per season; Assistant Coach #3 - Programming
• Hold students accountable for coming to a minimum of 2 practices a week
• Help to maintain a Google Classroom for the Robotics Team; all club meetings and activities must be posted on the Google Classroom calendar
• Help to maintain attendance records for meetings and activities
• Help to maintain records of fundraising totals
• Help to create an end of the year report with meeting dates and topics, sign-in sheets, and fundraising totals
• Help to prepare an informational slide for recruiting and town hall meetings, posted to school TVs
• Help to choose a representative and plan an informational display for Freshman Step Up Day
• Work in coordination with the head coach
