Who We're Looking For
Peterson's Corporate Risk Management Department seeks a passionate and highly motivated Assistant Risk Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the VP of Risk Management on the various corporate insurance programs and Enterprise Risk Management for the company. Responsibilities will include the compilation of underwriting information and coverage placement, claims administration oversight and investigation, loss forecasting and analysis to assist in loss mitigation, identifying risk exposures, recommending solutions, implementing approved programs, support and consult with internal stakeholders, updating and monitoring compliance with insurance procedures and managing safety/risk management manuals as well as assist in protecting and managing the brand and reputation of the company. The position will also oversee and improve the insurance certificate compliance process of the company and the third-party administrator.

What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent progressive experience in risk management or insurance-related field
- Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Must be capable of working independently and in a team.
- Must possess general knowledge of casualty and property insurance programs and policies as well as various other specialty insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Policy Administration- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data and information for insurance underwriting purposes for annual policy renewals or insurance quotes
- Oversee the maintenance and analysis of department tables of property and business interruption values, general liability exposures, fine arts, etc.
- Assist VP of Risk Management in evaluating the organization's risk exposure and identifying appropriate insurance coverage options
- Oversee the maintenance and accurate recording of insurance policies, including coverage details, policy limits, and renewal dates
- Assist VP Risk Management in monitoring policy compliance and update stakeholders on any changes to insurance requirements or regulations
- Coordinate with insurance providers to process policy endorsements, cancellations, and other policy-related transactions
- Assist in the evaluation and provide recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk policies
- Assist in the oversight of the certificate tracking third-party administrator and assist in the certificates of insurance compliance process
Claims Management- Facilitate the timely reporting of insurance claims and ensure all necessary documentation is collected for the adjusters, as well as managing all phases of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consult and/or participate in negotiations, conferences and mediations with adjusting companies, outside legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other involved parties
- Collaborate with internal teams and external adjusters to manage and expedite the claims process to bring the claim to closure or an expedited subrogation
Risk Analysis & Loss Control- Utilize statistical and financial modeling techniques to forecast potential losses and assess their impact on the organization
- Track and analyze historical loss data to identify risk trends and recommend strategies to reduce future losses
- Coordinate risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies for new projects, initiatives, or business processes
- Coordinate risk analysis and loss control services with property managers, insurance carriers and brokers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety programs and loss prevention strategies, as needed
- Work closely with operational teams to implement risk management best practices and preventive measures
Compliance- Assist VP of Risk Management with the management and administration of the company's business continuity and disaster recovery programs
- Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to insurance and risk management
Reporting & Analysis- Assist the VP of Risk Management on comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting risk exposures and proposing risk mitigation measures
- Prepare regular risk management reports for departmental and executive review, as required
Vendor & Stakeholder Relationships- Assist the VP in managing relationships with third-party service providers, including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators
Budget & Administration- Develop and maintain risk management budget and administration of invoices for approval by the VP of Risk Management
- Other risk management duties as assigned
