Job description

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is seeking motivated, team-oriented individuals for the position of Full-Time Assistant Retail Store Manager at our FENTON store located at 3150 Owen Road, Fenton.

Assist the Store Manager in effectively managing the retail store, ensuring staff are trained and performing well, customers are satisfied, and sales are profitable.

$17.00 per hour plus a 20% discount on in-store purchases.

Potential for monthly bonuses and career advancement opportunities.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  1. Assist in exceeding sales and gross margin goals for the store.
  2. Promote good relations with donors and customers, providing excellent service and communication.
  3. Merchandise the sales floor attractively, displaying quality goods in sufficient quantity.
  4. Assist in hiring, training, motivating, and communicating with staff.
  5. Adhere to safety standards and promote safety training in meetings.
  6. Maintain an efficient backroom layout.
  7. Receive, process, stock, and rotate merchandise efficiently.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Minimum of one-year management experience
  • Two years of retail, production, or customer service experience
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds
  • Ability to reach, bend, or stoop
  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours daily
  • Reliable transportation and telephone access
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Professional, cheerful demeanor
