Job Description
Position Purpose: Ensuring all guest needs are met or exceeded by maintaining cleanliness, food and beverage quality, and service standards across outlets including Society 1854, Burdock, Bitters, and In-room Dining. Focus on providing prestigious service that results in high satisfaction ratings and encourages repeat visits.
Establish objectives through professional leadership, effective personnel development, and maintaining high restaurant standards to boost teamwork and morale, reduce absenteeism, and lower turnover rates.
Manage budgetary guidelines by increasing sales via service and upselling, maintaining accurate records and inventories, and applying proper cash handling to minimize losses, thereby reducing costs and increasing profitability.
Essential Functions:
- Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline staff for efficient operation.
- Process payroll reports promptly.
- Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage within payroll guidelines.
- Conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings to communicate relevant information and assign tasks.
- Engage positively with customers, promote hotel facilities, and resolve issues satisfactorily.
- Organize special events and promotions to generate revenue.
- Monitor food quality and service standards throughout the facility, providing guidance for improvements.
- Maintain outlet profitability by controlling payroll, equipment costs, and inventory levels.
- Oversee staff counseling, performance appraisals, and ensure fairness.
- Use POS systems for accurate billing, revenue tracking, and data management.
- Implement and uphold sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain house bank and manage relationships with other departments and vendors.
- Track tip distribution and administer sales promotion and incentive programs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competition.
- Coordinate activities of all restaurant personnel and ensure high-quality food, beverage, and service.
- Staff outlets according to departmental responsibilities.
- Participate in community and public relations activities.
- Oversee staff training and development, including succession planning.
- Strive for continuous improvement in staff satisfaction scores.
- Ensure standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained.
- Hold regular departmental meetings.
- Analyze departmental costs to meet budget goals.
- Respond appropriately to safety incidents or accidents.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in Food & Beverage, management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of F&B operations, techniques, beverages, and wines.
- Mathematical skills for inventory, controls, and financial tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, POS systems.
- Ability to respond promptly to guest requests and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Dependability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle guest and staff concerns professionally.
- Ability to operate POS systems and handle cash accurately.
- Relevant certifications such as Responsible Beverage Service and ServSafe required.
- Physical ability to observe and respond to emergency situations.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Ability to develop staff for advancement.
