Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager - (Denae's Diner Restaurant)

Pay Range: $31.25 - 38.46 per hour. Must have the flexibility to work a changing schedule for miscellaneous hotel private events as needed. Available to work special events during evenings, weekends, overnights, and daytime hours. Primarily overnight shifts, with other shifts as needed. Looking for an experienced, fun, and professional Assistant Restaurant Manager with a welcoming presence and current F&B management experience in a hotel restaurant/food and beverage environment. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Overview

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager assists in the operation and administration of food and beverage departments, including restaurants, lounge, and room service. Ensures high standards of service, guest satisfaction, and department profitability. Leads, trains, coaches, motivates, and provides feedback to staff, supervisors, and managers daily.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and execute innovative food and beverage strategies to exceed guest satisfaction and revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with team on menu planning, development, and execution.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained and able to perform their duties to standards.
  • Develop staff professionally and personally.
  • Drive revenue through marketing, promotions, and upselling.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints related to food quality, service, or accommodations.
  • Check food and beverage deliveries for quality and accuracy.
  • Work with culinary staff to ensure quality presentation and food standards.
  • Monitor budgets, payroll, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
  • Maintain records for sanitation and food subsidies as required.
  • Set personnel performance and customer service standards.
  • Estimate and manage food, liquor, wine, and beverage inventory needs.
  • Review procedures to improve service, performance, or safety.
  • Organize staff training, hire new employees, and evaluate performance.
  • Analyze sales data to identify less profitable items.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and service needs.
  • Monitor activities to ensure liquor laws are followed.
  • Train staff in food prep, service, sanitation, and safety.
  • Inspect supplies and work areas for efficiency and standards.
  • Manage inventories of food, equipment, and liquor.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 7 years of relevant hotel food and beverage management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with MICROS is required.
  • First aid and Serve Safe certifications required.
