Job description

Barrel & Bushel is a neighborhood restaurant serving handcrafted American favorites with a twist, purchasing local and creating handcrafted elements wherever possible. Our food is complemented by our barrel-forward drink selections, completed by 22 local and regional craft beers on tap, more than 30 bourbons, and handcrafted cocktails that will satisfy any palate. B&B is the perfect place for friends and large group gatherings alike in a lively open-air dining space with an outdoor patio. Located inside the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner, connected to the Tysons Corner Center Mall and popular outdoor plaza. We are seeking an energetic and caring food and beverage professional, someone with knowledge and passion for service. The Assistant Restaurant Manager assist in the day-to-day operations with professional integrity in all aspects of guest relations, staff management, and systems maintenance while promoting the values and culture. Under the direct leadership of the Restaurant Manager and alongside Assistant Restaurant Managers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organize, run, and supervise daily shifts in Barrel & Bushel Restaurant, B&B Market, and in Room Delivery. Assist and conduct daily pre-shift meetings. Maintain floor presence during meal periods. Assist in any area when staffing constraints require.
• Consistently review operations to identify any problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to continually create a positive guest experience.
• Follow manager checklist. Complete work assignments and follow up promptly.
• Engage and participate in hotel happenings, events, and committees.
• Lead, and develop the team. Enhance, develop, and uphold core values and SOPS. Provide clear directions, and delegate responsibilities.
• Ensure excellent service is consistently achieved. Provide coaching and feedback to staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare materials and conduct team department meetings regularly. Prepare and host regular and ongoing trainings and learnings.
• Reward, and recognize team.
• Recruit, interview, and hire new and retain team members. Prepare staff schedules and manage labor costs and productivity.
• Manage the restaurant to meet or exceed standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness
• Consistently monitor products for quality, inventory level, and pricing to be competitive in restaurant markets.
• Monitor and maintain the Micros POS systems, online ordering, website content, and social listings.
• Manage Opentable pacing, floorplans, and seating arrangements.
• Solicit guest feedback to understand the guest's needs. Respond to online and internal reviews in a timely manner
Skills and Qualifications:
• Full-time Management Position that requires full flexibility, the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
• Candidates should possess food and beverage knowledge. Beverage knowledge should include wine, spirits, and beer
• Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or a Restaurant Supervisor in a high-volume seating
• Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service
• A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
