Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities in Plainview, NY is seeking a Full-Time Residential Supervisor to oversee residence operations and staff. You will train staff, ensure program compliance, and manage payroll for the residence.

This role requires a High School Diploma/GED, CPR/AMAP/SCIP certification, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. With 24/7 on-call duties, you’ll lead a team dedicated to dignity, inclusion, and quality care for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• AMAP/SCIP/CPR certification, as per Center’s policy.
• Must be able to perform physical activities (twisting, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing).
• Must be able to sit, walk, drive, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Good written and/or verbal communication skills.
• Two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operations of the residence.
• Provide staff training for the implementation of individuals’ programs.
• Ensure that the program is operating according to agency policy and regulatory compliance.
• Complete payroll duties for the residence.
• Ensure proper communication with team members, including families/guardians, care managers, Clinical Department, Nursing Department, etc.
• Responsible for the on-site supervision of all staff members.
• Ensure proper program implementation.
• Assist the Residential Manager with hiring, disciplinary actions, terminating, and evaluations of staff.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $27.47/hour and reaching up to $30.92/hour (depending on role & shift).

Schedule:

Full‑Time: Tuesday - Friday 1pm - 9pm, Saturday 7am - 3pm

Some Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operations of the residence.

• Ensure proper communication with team members, including families/guardians, care managers, Clinical Department, Nursing Department, etc.
• Responsible for the on‑site supervision of all staff members.
• Ensure proper program implementation.
• Assist the Residential Manager with the hiring, disciplinary action, terminating, and evaluations of staff members.
• Assume all responsibilities of the Residential Manager during their absence.
• Responsible for the scheduling of staff members.
• Ensure the health and happiness of the individual’s at their site(s).
• Ensure that all individuals at their site(s) receive support that is consistent with Dignity and the Core Competencies.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the residence and address cleaning issues.
• Responsible for purchasing household items.
• Maintain kitchen area and food needs.
• Responsible for petty cash and receipts for the residence.
• Inform the Residential Manager of all caseload issues and concerns.
• Responsible to be on-call 24/7 for residence emergencies and overnight shifts when Residential Manager is unavailable.
• Assume direct care staff responsibilities when there is a staff shortage.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Complete and maintain AMAP/SCIP/CPR certification, as per Center’s policy;
• Must be able to perform physical activities such as (but not limited to); twisting, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing.
