Job summary

Options Unlimited, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Residential Manager to supervise direct care staff and assist the Manager in running a home for four adult women with IDD in the Hartford area. The role requires on-call coverage, vehicle use, and oversight of programs and records.

Qualifications include a HS diploma, 1 year of IDD experience, and CPR/First Aid/PMT/DDS certifications; management experience and autism/behavior experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience with IDD.
• CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration certifications required or obtainable.
• Must be capable of supervising staff and coordinating care in a home setting.
• Valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise staff ensuring safe, compassionate direct care.
• Assist Manager in running the home and day programs.
• Coordinate medical services and maintain accurate records.
• Promote a homelike environment and model appropriate behavior.
• Attend required meetings and provide on-call coverage as needed.

The Assistant Residential Manager is responsible for direct care staffing and assisting the Manager in the overall running of thehome, including staffing, and associated day programs.

This home has four (4) residents – 4 active women with mild behavioral episodes

Duties include:

• Assists with the oversight and supervision of staff
• Direct care staffing as needed.
• Assists with the coordination and provision of medical services
• Promotes the development and retention of a homelike environment, including being a role model
• Supports the oversight and direction of all planned services to residents
• Maintenanceof accurate records as they relate to the operations of the house, services provided to residents, supervision of staff
• Participation in required meetings
• Assistance with on-call coverage for the home

Qualifications Include:

• H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experienceworking with intellectual/developmental disabilities required.
• Prior experience working with individuals with autism and behaviors preferred.
• Prior management responsibility, including staff supervision preferred.
• Use of a personal vehicle to perform assigned duties is required.
• Obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration.
• Must have well-developed organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of basic office equipment and computer software
