Job summary

The Bridge Inc. in New York, NY seeks an Assistant Resident Manager to support residents in a supportive housing and behavioral health program. You will provide direct services, crisis intervention, and assist with day-to-day operations under the Residence Manager.

The role requires strong organizational skills, five years in a related setting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; bilingual Spanish is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or high school diploma with at least five years of experience in a supportive residential program.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of AWARDS system preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees, clients, and community contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling, supportive services, and crisis intervention to residents.
  • Be available for 24-hour crisis management and respond to resident and building issues as needed.
  • Ensure the delivery and documentation of client services, including weekly service-linked progress notes, collateral contact notes, monthly summary notes, service/support plans, assessments, and consents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
  • Oversee medication monitoring and ensure accurate and timely completion of medication logbook documentation.
  • Assist the Residence Manager with personnel activities, including recruiting and hiring, shift scheduling, staff meetings, training, performance evaluations, time and attendance using the Paycom system, disciplinary actions, and labor-management issues.
  • Ensure that all staff receive required training, including First Aid/CPR, NARCAN, incident reporting, and cultural competency.
  • Support the program’s fiscal responsibilities, including inventory management for office and food supplies, management of petty cash, distribution of resident funds, administration of program fee payment plans, and documentation of money management activities.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Department to maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained building.
  • Address repair and maintenance needs in individual apartments and common areas.
  • Assist the Residence Manager in ensuring compliance with program requirements related to admissions, discharges, incident reporting, apartment inspections, and fire drills.
  • Attend internal agency meetings, trainings, and other required meetings.
  • In the absence of the Residence Manager, assume all managerial responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Area Director or Field Coordinator.

As a recognized leader in developing and operating supportive housing and community-based programs, The Bridge has 70 years of experience helping New Yorkers with mental illness, including those affected by homelessness, incarceration, and institutionalization.Scope of Position: The Assistant Resident Manager works under the supervision of the Residence Manager/Director and plays an important role in providing clinical and rehabilitative services to residents. In addition to providing direct support, the position assists with delegated operational, personnel, and financial responsibilities within the residential program. The Assistant Resident Manager works closely with the Residence Manager/Director to ensure the program is prepared for successful OMH (Office of Mental Health) and LITC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) audits and reviews.
