Job description

ASSISTANT RESIDENCE MANAGER - OPWDD (Overnight Shift)
  • Provide supervision to assigned staff, including completion of evaluations in accordance with agency policies.
  • Administration
  • Facilities Management
  • Community Relations
  • Develop activities in and outside of the house
  • Ensure consumer diet and nutrition in all aspects, e.g., menu plans, weight records, etc.
  • Monitor consumers’ health through contact with physicians, dentists, and other treatment personnel
  • Ensure consumer’s program plans are followed
  • Obtain and maintain AMAP/CPR/First Aid/SCIP-R certifications
  • Provide direct care services as needed
  • Collaborate with educational programs to ensure continuity of treatment modalities
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • OPWDD experience in residential settings preferred
  • A clean and valid NYS driver’s license
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities/traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations
  • Familiarity with Justice Center requirements
  • Ability to handle emergencies professionally

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and in conjunction with the Director, terminating staff for the house
  • Responsible for supervision of all staff
  • Act as a resource to direct care staff
  • Write and conduct three-month performance reviews of new direct care staff and their formal annual performance reviews
  • Conduct weekly supervision with full-time direct care staff
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings
  • Meet regularly with the Clinical Team to monitor the progress of consumer programs and consumer progress
  • Ensure all staff receive mandated in-service training
  • Conduct orientation programs for all new direct care staff
