Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Represent yourself and the Agency in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Know, understand, and continually practice the Agency’s Standards of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise direct support staff as it relates to data collection, active treatment and compliance with Abbott House’s policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate medical appointments (post on medical calendar).
  • Review and sign off on all medical consults.
  • Monitor medication administration compliance via MARs and monthly checks.
  • Assist in budgeting and household financial tracking.
  • Attend meetings and prepare written reports as requested.
  • Provide training to Direct Support staff as required by supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure program activities are implemented.
  • Support community inclusion and recreational activities.

JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Residence Manager is responsible for assisting the Residence Manager in supervising and coordinating the operations of the Residence.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that the safety and well-being of the individuals being supported is maintained at the highest level possible.Assure compliance with the 624 regulations and adhere to Abbott House policy and procedures for incident reportingCoordinate medical appointments (post on medical calendar)Review and sign off on all medical consultsComplete bi-weekly medication/medical supply inventory checkReview all MAR’s to monitor for medication administration compliance, MD orders, monthly blood pressure checksSupervise direct support staff as it relates to data collection, active treatment and compliance with Abbott House’s policy and procedures.Assume responsibility for the individuals being supported in the absence of The Assistant Residence ManagerAt the Direction of The Assistant Residence Manager, assist with the evaluation of staff performanceIn the absence of The Assistant Residence Manager review timesheets for accuracy, and forward them to the Unit Administrator along with budget tracking sheets and per diem sheetsAssist in coordinating consumer financial expenses, i.e. clothing allowance, personal allowance, and the household budgetAssist Residence Manager in conducting staff and resident meetingsPrepare written reports as requestedAttend meetings as requiredWork a varied schedule of evening, day and weekend hoursAssist in the training of Direct Support staff as required by supervisorsAssist in maintaining a clean physical environment and perform related work as requiredParticipate in in-service training modules as scheduledAssure community inclusion, recreational activities are scheduled and implementedPerform all necessary activities assigned to further the agency’s missionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
