Job Overview: Reporting to the Reservations Manager, the Assistant Reservations Manager supports the Core Team and oversees the Reservations and Guest Services functions for the hotel, ensuring the efficient operation of the Core department in conjunction with all departments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must have 5-star experience in Reservations, Guest Services, Front Office and Sales
  • Hotel Opening experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with HMS PMS, Voice Agent, Alliance, Knowcross, SynXis and Duetto
  • Must have a proven record of leading with passion and delivering outstanding luxury service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, decisive, responsible and driven to achieve goals.
  • Ability to work well in a multilevel team environment, motivate a team of employees while supporting the Director of Reservations and Revenue.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and good written communication skills.
  • Ability to think independently, possess good judgment, proven problem-solving skills and effective decision-making skills.
  • Ability to exercise high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures and respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time and continuously perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shift work, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
  • Ability to assist with payroll and scheduling for the team.
  • Must adhere to the appearance and grooming policy.
  • Comply with Equinox Hotel standards per the team member handbook and as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties/tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

s:Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to think quickly and act appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Perform well under pressure situations, time demands, and work overtime when needed.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  • Hotel or building maintenance experience preferred.
  • General computer knowledge and ability to enter work orders, make notes, etc. or related system.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays).
  • Two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of proper equipment usage and repair.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent vocational training.

Essential Physical Abilities:

  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, lift, push or pull heavy loads, and lift and/or carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Explain: One-on-one communication with guest, manager and fellow employees.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
