Job summary

The Summit at Snoqualmie is seeking an Assistant Rental Manager to support the Rental Manager in overseeing ski and snowboard rental operations across all locations. You will focus on inventory control, guest service, daily reporting, and leadership support to ensure smooth operations and a high standard of guest satisfaction.

Work closely with Supervisors to coach staff, manage escalations, and optimize fleet allocation.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supervising rental operations at ski resorts, retail, or hospitality.
  • Working knowledge of alpine ski and snowboard rental equipment and operations.
  • Experience with inventory tracking, reconciliation, and loss prevention.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends for operational decisions.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems to reduce equipment loss and optimize fleet allocation by location and product category.
  • Oversee daily tracking and reconciliation of rental inventory across locations.
  • Audit missing, overdue, damaged, and non-returned equipment and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with resort services to ensure smooth workflow and positive guest experience during peak periods.
  • Manage escalations and act as Manager on Duty.
  • Coach and support Supervisors and assist with performance conversations.
  • Handle guest concerns and billing disputes, and support service recovery.

The Assistant Rental Manager supports the Rental Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of rental services across all rental locations at The Summit at Snoqualmie. This role bridges frontline supervision and department-level management by focusing on inventory control, operational efficiency, guest service, reporting, accountability, and leadership support.

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, the Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is a lot to do all year long.

Responsibilities
Long Term Thinking
  • Build systems and processes to reduce equipment shrinkage and loss, and monitor usage trends to optimize fleet allocation by location and product category.
Excellence in Execution
  • Oversee daily tracking of rental inventory checked out versus returned, and ensure daily reconciliation of skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets, demo gear, and seasonal/take-home rental inventory across all locations.
  • Audit missing, overdue, damaged, and non-returned equipment, and identify and resolve inventory discrepancies quickly.
Attitude is Everything
  • Coordinate with resort services departments to ensure smooth workflow, clear communication, and a positive guest experience during high-volume periods and across rental operations resort-wide.
  • Resolve guest escalations and operational challenges calmly and professionally while serving as Manager on Duty.
Develop Great People
  • Coach and support rental Supervisors, providing guidance on daily operational priorities and helping them solve operational issues.
  • Support training and development of Supervisors, and assist with performance coaching and accountability conversations.
Serve First
  • Handle escalated guest concerns and resolve rental disputes professionally, including billing disputes, incorrect equipment assignments, missing reservations, and late return concerns.
  • Support service recovery efforts and ensure a high standard of guest satisfaction across all rental interactions.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in a rental operation, ski resort, retail, or hospitality environment.
  • Working knowledge of alpine ski and snowboard rental equipment and operations.
  • Experience with inventory tracking, reconciliation, and loss-prevention processes.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends to support operational decisions.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support operations across more than one location.
Preferred
  • Prior experience serving as a Manager on Duty or in a similar operational leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, boot fitting, and binding systems.
  • Experience coaching or training frontline staff.

The wage range for this positions is: from $28.00 to $33.00/hr (DOE)

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
