Job/Department Summary:
Under general direction of the University Registrar, the Assistant Registrar for Systems is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of assigned staff, providing leadership, direction, and coordination of activities within designated functional areas of the Registrar's Office, including Academic Advisement/Degree Progress, Student Records and Classroom Resources, and the Campus Community Module. This position serves as a key advisor to the University Registrar, synthesizing information from the Chancellor’s Office and making informed recommendations in response to evolving regulations, technology systems, business processes, and operational tools.
The Assistant Registrar provides leadership for systems and technology functions and applications under the broad purview of the Office of the Registrar and integrated systems that support streamlined and seamless experiences for students, staff, and faculty. The incumbent will assist in data management for Student Records module, Academic Advisement module, Campus Community module as well as Classroom Resources and Systemwide Reporting related data in systems under direct control of Office of the Registrar providing consultation for other systems containing related data in systems under direct control of Office of the Registrar. This position will also oversee security to Student Records module and Academic Advisement module, as well as Campus Community and Systemwide Reporting related data. Additionally, this position will leverage systems to improve service to students, faculty, and staff; ensure accurate and timely submission of required student data reporting; manage student academic record retention; and promote and support the functions of the Office of the Registrar and larger institutional priorities and initiatives.
The Assistant Registrar assists with oversight and implementation of regulations, policies, and procedures of the administration and faculty pertaining to student academic records, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student academic records.
Required Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in relevant field, such as admissions, records, or registrations operations with a technical focus
AND
5 years of progressively responsible professional/administrative experience implementing and leading integrated information systems experience will include 3 years working in a leadership capacity.

Admin I Hiring Range: $49,620 - $147,456 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
