Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an Assistant, Receiving (JR110831) to support our warehouse operations. You will maintain department files and reports, and provide documentation and support to buyers, vendors, and carriers to ensure purchase orders are received on schedule.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and safety. It offers a Monday–Friday night shift with strong benefits and opportunities for advancement within a long-standing distribution leader.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years work experience, preferably in distribution.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming carriers.
• Receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and coordinate with buyers, vendors, carriers, and receiving teammates to ensure correct PO receipt.
• Communicate receipts of all products timely to leaders.
• Communicate no-call, no-shows, and rescheduled shipments.
• Ensure shipments received in advance are communicated timely.
• Other duties may be assigned.

As a Receiving Assistant, you will maintain and update department files and reports. Assist other internal departments as required by providing documentation, files, and support.

• Pay rate: $17.50 per hour plus shift differential pay for 3rd shift (.50).
• Shift is Monday-Friday 10pm until work is completed.

What you’ll do as a Receiving Assistant:

• Maintain schedule of incoming carriers.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Warehouse Teammate:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 or more years work experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
