Position Summary:

The NDT Assistant supports certified NDT technicians in the delivery of nondestructive testing services at various client sites and locations. This entry-level role serves as an important foundation for building a career in asset integrity and inspection, while contributing to safe, efficient, and high‑quality inspection operations. The position involves assisting with inspections, equipment handling, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols across a variety of industrial environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist certified NDT technicians in setting up and performing inspections using methods such as UT, MT, PT, and RT in accordance with company and client procedures.
  • Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment for testing assignments.
  • Support radiation safety practices and assist in securing work areas for radiographic testing when applicable.
  • Transport equipment to and from job sites while maintaining safe handling practices and inventory control.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are cleaned and properly maintained.
  • Complete field reports, timesheets, and other required documentation as directed.
  • Follow all company safety rules, client site protocols, and Life Critical Expectations.
  • Perform general labor duties related to rigging, lifting, and access equipment setup.
Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in NDT, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology.
  • Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with tools and equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor‑vehicle driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment drug/alcohol screening and background checks.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.
  • Willingness to travel and work in environments including Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other industrial settings.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Strong work ethic with a safety‑first mindset.
  • Physical and mental requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells within refinery, plant, or industrial environments.
  • Good communication abilities to interact effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Good vision and observation capabilities to support inspection activities.
  • Manual dexterity required to perform routine duties and equipment handling.
  • Ability to travel when necessary and maintain focus while multitasking.
