Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) seeks an Assistant Radiation Safety Officer to support the Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The role will assist the RSO in managing the radiation protection program and ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and BNH's Radioactive Materials License.

Responsibilities include policy implementation, records management, proper handling of radioactive material shipments, and training. U.S.

Qualifikationen

• Active level II or higher NDT certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) per ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
• At least 5 years as a certified radiographer performing film interpretation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain active security clearance and access AEDC networks.
• U.S. Citizenship required for federal contract compliance.

Aufgaben

• Assist in implementing new policies, updates to existing policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain auditable records for the Radiation Safety Program.
• Ensure compliant receipt and transfer/shipping of radioactive material.
• Develop and update operating and emergency procedures for industrial radiography with radioactive material.
• Ensure only qualified personnel access and use radioactive material for radiographic inspections.
• Perform periodic unannounced personnel audits and ensure radiographic equipment is inspected and calibrated.
• Develop and maintain plans and procedures under NRC Part 37 regulations; maintain records as required by NRC and state regulations.
• Conduct record/file audits to identify non-compliance and drive improvements.
• Ensure personnel exposure monitoring dosimetry is available and records are kept.
• Interface with Tennessee Department of Radiological Health/NRC during audits and compliance activities.
• Ensure approved access personnel meet NRC Part 37 integrity requirements.
• Assist in Radiation Safety Training development and delivery; ensure completion by personnel.
• Adhere to PPE usage and ALARA policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
