Assistant Quality Manager - Southeast Chicago, IL area

• Location: SE Suburb in the greater Chicago metropolian area
• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-driven Assistant Quality Manager to monitor quality levels across all operational areas of our personal care manufacturing facility in Schaumburg, IL. In this role, you will support quality assurance and production personnel to ensure cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality oral care products that meet industry standards and customer requirements. You will directly supervise our QA Inspectors and QA Receiving Inspectors, guiding their daily activities to achieve corporate quality goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise manufacturing floor QA Inspectors across all three shifts and oversee QA Receiving Inspectors handling raw materials, components, and purchased products. Manage time and attendance, performance reviews, and developmental plans.
• Training & Compliance: Create, maintain, and execute annual training plans. Train direct reports on applicable policies, standard operating procedures, standard test methods (STMs), AQLs, and environmental procedures.
• Documentation & Data Management: Oversee electronic quality records and maintain databases for finished goods, purchased product inspections, NCRs, deviations, and Certificates of Destruction (CODs). Create and revise quality documentation as needed.
• Quality Control & Auditing: Monitor the Control of Non-Conforming product process, ensuring internal audit corrective actions are addressed, processed, and verified. Participate as an Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor as needed.
• Cross-Functional Support: Assist departments in developing procedures and work instructions and provide vital resources and training to support Wet Manufacturing operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific Discipline is preferred.
• Quality Assurance Certifications preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) is preferred.
• Prior experience working with Access Databases.
• Expert understanding product specifications and part drawings.
• Solid comprehension of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Previous supervisory experience.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency in databases, spreadsheets, and MS Office applications (Adobe, PDXpert, Integrify experience is a plus).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional organizational abilities.
