Qualifications

Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee and develop the company's Quality Assurance Program to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and SQF standards for all in-process and finished meat and poultry products.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor the Quality Assurance process, including supplier selection, inspection, and compliance with standards.
  • Interpret quality assurance policies to staff and ensure understanding.
  • Develop new solutions for quality issues.
  • Review and verify daily HACCP documentation for the Montgomery facility.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal audits.
  • Assist with customer complaint analysis and resolution.
  • Train employees on GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, and company policies.
  • Analyze quality data for consistency and compliance.
  • Report significant issues to management and recommend improvements.
  • Train QA personnel in process inspections and audits.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and government quality standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with USDA officials to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5-7 years of plant quality assurance/control experience.
  • Strong knowledge of meat and poultry processing, USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, SSOPs, SQF, and recalls.
  • Experience with plant audits and inspections at various levels.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Use of hands, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly.
  • Frequently stand and walk; occasionally sit, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Light lifting may be required.
  • Exposure to cold temperatures and moving mechanical parts occasionally.

Pay range: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
