Blue Line Engineering is seeking an Assistant Quality Manager to support our Quality team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position is responsible for supporting the management and continuous improvement of our quality management system, overseeing quality inspection activities, and ensuring products and processes meet applicable quality standards and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing quality assurance, preferably involving electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs), along with knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 standards. This is an opportunity to work closely with our experienced Quality Manager, gain an in-depth understanding of our quality processes, and grow into a broader leadership role within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the management and maintenance of Blue Line's AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS), including associated processes and procedures.
• Facilitate AS9100/ISO 9001 third-party and internal audits.
• Ensure production workmanship meets J-STD-001 standards, including the Space Addendum, and applicable customer requirements.
• Maintain the company's document control system and ensure quality documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Provide leadership and guidance to quality inspection personnel while monitoring production and inspection standards.
• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to establish quality objectives and understand customer requirements.
• Develop, implement, and improve quality control processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Review engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and final products to verify conformance with applicable specifications and standards.
• Ensure nonconforming products are properly documented, evaluated, and addressed.
• Facilitate material and failure review board activities.
• Evaluate returned products, investigate quality concerns, and support corrective actions.
• Communicate with customers to understand quality expectations, address concerns, and gather product feedback.
• Prepare statistical reports and communicate quality performance, trends, and concerns to management.
• Support annual AS9100 management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen quality processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Approximately 10+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
• Knowledge of J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
• Experience with electronics manufacturing, electronic assemblies, or printed circuit boards (PCBs) strongly preferred.
• Previous experience supporting quality management systems, audits, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and an interest in growing into a quality management role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with employees, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality control or quality management certification.
• Previous experience supervising or providing guidance to quality inspection personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
• Familiarity with inspection and laboratory equipment, including multimeters, LCR meters, calipers, micrometers, and related tools.
