Assistant Punch Superintendent - Multi-Family Construction

Location: Kansas City, MO

Salary: $80K + Project Bonus plus full benefits included

*Primary focus for the first 6 months will be on our new Multi-Family Affordable Apartment site in Kansas City, called The Depot on Old Sante Fe.*

Future projects will follow in Columbus, OH and additional states.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting with the supervision of the entire site, subcontractors, and the building construction process. Ensures a safe work environment, inspects subcontractor work, documents progress, punches out finished units, and completes any work not contracted out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and supervise subcontractor punch lists prior to management walks.
  • Perform minor punch work such as drywall touch-up, painting, door hardware installation, and window lock installation.
  • Inspect and supervise contractor work for completeness and quality.
  • Walk with Property Management for first and final acceptance of units.
  • Enforce site safety, manage trash, OSHA concerns, and erosion control; address violations immediately.
  • Create and maintain dumpster logs.
  • Install mailboxes, bike racks, signage, etc., when not contracted out.
  • Maintain daily logs on Procore.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Willing to travel 100% of the time.
  • Extended hours and working at least one Saturday per month required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret rules, procedures, reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.
  • Reasoning Skills: Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
  • Computer Skills: Basic experience with MS Office and MS Project.
  • Other Skills: Ability to read tape measures and use a level.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Attend annual First Aid and OSHA 10-hour classes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular walking, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Requires good vision and depth perception.
  • Extended hours and possibly working one Saturday per month.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Typically works in loud environments.
  • Rarely in humid, high, or vibration-prone areas.
  • Occasionally near moving machinery or chemicals.
