Assistant Punch Superintendent - Multi-Family Construction
Location: Kansas City, MO

Salary: $80K
Project Bonus plus full benefits included

Primary focus for the first 6 months will be on our new Multi-Family Affordable Apartment site in Kansas City, called The Depot on Old Sante Fe. Future projects will follow in Columbus, OH and additional states.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for assisting with the supervision of the entire site, all subcontractors, and the building construction process. Helps to provide a safe work environment, inspects subcontractor work, documents work done, punches-out finished units, and completes any work that is not contracted out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Create/supervise subcontractor punch lists prior to management walks.
  2. Perform minor "punch" work such as drywall touch-up, painting, door hardware installation, and window lock installation.
  3. Inspect and supervise contractor work for completeness and quality.
  4. Walk with Property Management on first and final acceptance of units.
  5. Enforce site safety, address OSHA concerns, manage trash and erosion control, and instruct workforce on violations and safety concerns.
  6. Create and maintain dumpster logs.
  7. Install mailboxes, bike racks, signage, etc., when not contracted out.
  8. Maintain daily logs on Procore.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction supervision.
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
  • Extended hours and at least one Saturday per month work required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret rules, procedures, and reports effectively.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
  • Beginner experience with MS Office and MS Project.
  • Ability to read tape measures and use a level.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attend annual First Aid and OSHA 10-hour classes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional climbing, balancing, lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular walking, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typically loud noise environment.
  • Occasional work in humid conditions, high places, near moving machinery, or chemicals.
