Job summary

City of Los Banos is seeking an Assistant Public Works Director to lead the Engineering Division, plan and coordinate the City's engineering, planning, design, geological, construction and inspection functions. You will develop internal data tracking, supervise staff, and work with City departments and agencies to implement public works programs.

The role requires management experience, strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, and the ability to prepare budgets and policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Four years of increasingly responsible experience in public works, including two years of management.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Organize, direct and implement a comprehensive public works program.
• Administer construction contract activities and oversee inspection services.
• Develop division budgets and forecast staffing, equipment, materials and supplies.
• Coordinate planning, analysis and development of special projects related to Public Works Assets and Utilities.
