Job summary

Clarion County is seeking a dedicated attorney to represent indigent or incarcerated criminal defendants at all stages of prosecution. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and will be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing documents, and representing clients in court. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of criminal law are essential.

Candidates with internships in public defense are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
• Possess initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function independently and work effectively with others.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation to criminal defendants.
• Investigate cases and prepare pre-trial documents.
• Counsel clients and represent them in court.
• Conduct legal research and negotiate plea bargains.
